Consus is a Pittsburgh company with plans to build several ethanol plants in Pennsylvania. Its business model calls for a cogeneration plant using waste coal to power the companion ethanol plant -- allowing significant energy cost savings.

Consus plans to produce corn ethanol at a price advantage. It believes its strategic plant locations will permit Consus to charge much lower prices for ethanol in areas where these costs are now among the highest in the nation.
